Annual Video Contest
Annual Video Contest
Ask, You’re Worth It! Youth Video Contest is now open for submissions!
Create a 2-minute video about staying safe at work for your chance to win!
Every year, tons of young people get their first job, putting them in unfamiliar situations where they might not know how to keep themselves safe. Do you know what to do when you think you’re in danger and how you should keep yourself safe at work?
We want you to create a video that will inform and inspire young people like you all over Canada to think about how to stay safe at work.
2021 entry deadline: April 5th, 11:59 PM MST.
What are the prizes?
Territorial Competition (First Round)
- $1,000 to the first place video team or individual from the Northwest Territories/Nunavut contest.
- $1,000 matched prize awarded to the winning team’s sponsor school/organization.
Canadian National Finals (Final Round)
The winning Northwest Territories/Nunavut video advances to the Canadian Finals. There, they have a chance to win an additional first place prize of $2,000. Second place receives $1,500, and third place receives $1,000.
Each winning secondary school/youth organization will receive a matching prize equal to the total prize of the individual or team.
Who is eligible?
This contest is open to all Northwest Territories and Nunavut high schools/youth organizations with youth ages 14-19. Each team must have a sponsor teacher from their high school or organization to supervise the team.
What should my video be about?
The theme this year is #FocusOnSafety, so the video must do just that: focus on safety. Beyond that, it’s up to you! It could be a drama, an animation, a stop-motion video, or even a music video—get creative with it.
How long should I make my video?
Your video must be no longer than 2 minutes including titles and credits. However, shorter videos are welcomed!
How do I submit my entry?
a) Upload your video to YouTube and email the completed contest entry form and the video link to the WSCC Video Contest Coordinator.
b) Send the video on a CD, DVD, or USB stick and mail it to the WSCC Contest Coordinator at:
